Sponsored by Champagne Bollinger, this is the UK's only literary award for comic literature
The Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize for Comic Fiction is given annually to the book considered to best capture the comic spirit of PG Wodehouse. The winner of the prize is announced every year at the Hay Festival of Literature & Arts, a now worldwide famous annual literature festival held in Hay-on-Wye, Wales.
The 2021 winner is Guy Kennaway for his novel The Accidental Collector, a laugh-out-loud comedy about the contemporary art world, described by the Daily Mail as a ‘compelling comedy of errors’. As is tradition for the prize, now in its 21st year, he was presented with a pig, a jeroboam of Bollinger Special Cuvée, a case of Bollinger La Grande Année, and the complete set of the Everyman's Library P.G. Wodehouse collection.
